Friends

This is a blog to show appreciation of all my awesome friends, new and old, those I have known for a short time, and those I have known my whole life. As I grow older I find myself surrounded by great people, but people who dont understand the joy in mooning someone, or driving around all night listening to insane music, or leaving christmas trees on doorsteps, or simply dancing in the living room because you can.I miss you guys and for those of you I dont see anymore, I think about you often and I am so glad I had you in my life (you know who you are). Now that I have a little girl I only hope she has as many awesome moments with as many awesome people as I have. Who else would break into there boyfriends house only to take pics of there own butt cracks,or drive around with a license plate that says "i lie to boys" or find joy in taking pics with micheal jackson ( the barbie), or laugh for hrs just because someone reclined the front seat in the car really fast.. I mean seriously I could go on for hrs...but I wont. I will just say of all the people in the world I think I know the coolest ones.

(If this blog sounds familiar to anyone its because I actually posted it on Myspace about a year ago, but after getting togethor with my bestest of friends last night and having the best time ever, I thought it only appropriate to post it again. Its about time we went and saw SATC togethor! Marin we missed you at the movie! Chelsea! please email me the pics you took in the theatre!)

Someday

This Thanksgiving was going to be the BEST Thanksgiving ever. The best Thanksgiving I have ever celebrated....because this Thanksgiving I was going to be in Paris. But... (oh how I hate that there is a "but"), what was going to be a week long vacation, turned into a 3 day vacation, turned into a "its not worth spending 3 days in paris so lets not go." Words cannot describe how sad I am. I try not to think about it , but when my passport arrived in the mail today, I will be honest, I was crushed. I tucked it away in my drawer with the promise from Jamison that some day soon I will need to pull it out again. The one bright side to all of this is that we can now take a much needed family vaca with all 3 of us, instead of sending just me to Europe...but still this does not console me when I think about me in Paris.

"What is the topic for today? Your pants?"

A few months back Staci,Chelsea, and I got togethor for dinner, and we started reminicing about the highschool days. Back then we had a quote book, and whenever someone would say something hilarious it would go in the book. At the dinner we were all wondering what happened to that book of awesome quotes.
Well, yesterday I was going through my old closet at my parents and I found this journal that Staci made for us as a graduation present. In it she put lots of pics, lots of quotes, and lots of 311 stuff (like the ticket the band signed when we went to dv8 to see them). It was a total time warp going through that journal. I loved it! I had totally forgotten about half the stuff we said and did. My favorite is the pic of us all dressed up at Chelseas house ( i apparently chose to be a sailer), our sophomore year around christmas time. I admit we were pretty dorky (could we have been anymore obsessed with 311), We thought we were pretty freaking awesome.

Some of my favorite quotes I found:
(only those that said them will find them funny)
"Where is the little man? he is the protector of the quotes" -jamie
"I wish that was a mating noise" -chelsea
"look at my finger" -bret-o
"oh la la wa wa la la" -chels and jamie mating call
"is this shirt see through? no it just looks like your tan line" -marin and otis
"let us go cause havoc" -everyone
"after the sur-gar-ey" -staci

JULY 24TH UTAH STYLE

TODAY WAS A CRAZY DAY OF FUN. WE WOKE UP BRIGHT AND EARLY SO CHASE COULD PARTAKE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD PARADE, THEN DROVE TO HEBER TO PICK UP THE HARLEY FOR JAMISONS HARLEY RIDE TOMORROW (WHICH HE DOES EVERY YEAR AND EVERY YEAR I FEAR FOR HIS LIFE), THEN WENT TO A FAMILY BBQUE WHERE WE PLAYED IN THE WATER, JUMPED ON THE TRAMP, AND WATCHED FIRE WORKS . TWAS GREAT FUN.
p.s. Chase is CRAZY on the trampoline. Video coming soon. I have come to the conclusion that her life purpose will somehow involve jumping.

memories....

So a few of my friends have done this on their blogs, and I thought it would be funny, so I decided to do it also. This is how it works:
1. Add a comment on this post. Leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I'm actually really excited to read them and I'm sure it'll get me laughing! Please be nice:)

The geese at wheeler farm are psycho

Lately I have had absolutly nothing to blog about, because absolutly nothing interesting is going on. Although we did have a slightly interesting trip to wheeler farm a few days ago. Um, I would not recommend feeding the ducks/geese there, unless you want to get your eyes pecked out. Chase and I went with some other moms in the ward, and the second we pulled out the bread we were surrounded and attacked. I was only able to get the one (not very good) picture of the incident because I was to busy screaming and trying to kick the geese away from my child. Besides the fact that you cant walk anywhere on the whole farm without stepping in duck poop. I dont think we will be going back.
Other than that we have just been having a nice lazy summer. Chase's latest favorite thing is sitting at the desk pretend typing, so we've been doing a lot of that, swimming, and jumping on the tramp (those are seriously her 3 favorite things) . Fun!

Fun in the sun

So, this is the 3rd time we have taken her swimming this summer. Every time she enjoys it more. Last year she absolutly loved swimming, but this year she had to warm up to it for some reason. But today she had a blast swimming with her cousins at her grandmas pool. We got a kick out of watching her try to walk around with the swim goggles on.
Yay for summer!!!

round 2 at the zoo

Since Chase didnt particularly enjoy her first experience at the zoo, I thought this time around I would take her aunts Ady and Alyx (its wierd calling them her aunts being that they are 8 and 6 yrs old, but since they are my little sisters they are technically her aunts), and she had a blast. She loves hanging out with Ady and Alyx. I love it because they can get her laughing harder than anyone else can. What a lucky little girl to have such cute little aunts.

oh my...

a few things that bug me.
1: people who give me a hard time for having a child and working. first off, i only work two 5 hr shifts a wk, and second...gasp!....i totally enjoy it! it is SO nice to get 2 wonderful 5 hr breaks a week(thats how i look at it). so maybe if your giving me a hard time its because your unhappy with your life and so have to concern yourself with others lives :) just being honest.
2: any woman who still likes playing the "he said she said" game. it kills me when a 50 yr old woman (who shall remain nameless) trys to tell me what people are saying, or whats going on in so and sos life thats so pathetic etc etc. i have enough going on in my own life to keep me occupied. thanks though.

thank you all for letting me vent, i love you, and wed. night i will be watching sex and the city with emilee and anyone else who wants to come. it will be a fabulous night. fabulous.

Book review

I just finished stephenie meyers new book, "The Host", and to be honest I was a little disappointed. There were parts I liked, but those were the beginning and the last 2 chapters. Everything inbetween I thought was fairly boring. Before I read it I heard from a few others how good it was......but I just cant agree. I did think the concept of the book was really cool, until Jamison and I watched Invasion last night and I realized that this book is the PG rated version of that movie. Keep in mind this is coming from the girl who liked, but did not love, the twilight series (although, I am thinking about re reading them in preperation for the next book).

The latest and greatest

Jamison: His life consists of working full time and going to the U full time. Being that I only get to see him for about an hour a night, I miss him. He is such a hard worker and such an amazing Dad. Seeing him with our little girl gets me every time. He has had a bit of a break this summer so he has been going golfing a few mornings a wk, and from what I am told, he is amazingly good. I am hoping Chase got his athletic abilities, because to say the least mine are lacking (although I have been known to bust some nice moves in my younger days haha).

Chase Emma: She is my little rebel wild woman, and I love it. She is hitting that age that is lots of fun and lots of work. I spend lots of time chasing her. I just signed us up for a kindermusic class that starts in June, so I am looking forward to that. I took her to the childrens museum the other day and she loved it. It was so nice to just sit while she ran around and played. She also loves the aquarium and the zoo, and basically anything that can hold her attention for more than 2 seconds (which is hard to find). She has started saying mama and dada, and fish.....which is slightly random, but whatever. She also just learned how to do a sumersault by herself, and actually get off the ground when she jumps. Its so funny watching her learn new things because she gets so proud of herself. I could go on and on about her for 10 pages but I will spare you.

Me!:Nothing to exciting going on here. I spend the majority of my time entertaining Chase. I work 2 days a week, which is actually kindof nice sometimes. I have started looking at it as a nice little break. The girls I work with have got me hooked on Sex and the City. I have rented the seasons, and watch it everynight after Chase goes to bed. I am hoping I can get them watched so I can go with everyone to the movie. The last thing I needed was another T.V show to get hooked to....but I cant help it!! I have been sucked in.
I am proud to say I have been going to the gym every morning (this is huge for me, being that I have no motivation to work out). I have sucked it up and dealt with the boredom of working out. Yay for me! I do have a long term goal of running a marathon. I have some runners in my fam and they have inspired me.
I have found a secret love of gardening, and I am still considering getting a tatoo.
The end.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

So, mothers day is always a little insane for us, being that we get to celebrate it times 4 (well, actually times 5 including myself, and after reading this it does sound slightly polygamous, but alas we are not). Since our parentals are all divorced and remarried Jamison and I both have awesome moms and stepmoms to whom I just wanted to say thanks for being so amazing!!!

And on that note, as a mom I could use a little advice from all you moms out there. Chase has started going through this phase of major atittude. The dreaded temper tantrums have begun, along with hitting, and refusing to stay by my side when we are out and about. She is so independent, which could be a good thing, but it scares me when she is running up to strangers wanting them to pick her up! ahhh! Someone said to me "Well, are you giving her enough attention?" After the initial urge to smack them, I explained that Chase probably gets to much attention. Jamison and I have tried ignoring it when she acts up, because feeding into it makes her laugh and want to do it more. The doctor suggested putting her in her crib for just 2 minutes when she acts up. That doesnt work either. She is only 15 months old, so its not like there is a ton I can do. So.... any suggestions? Jamisons family is constantly telling me that he acted exactly how Chase acts, attitude and all. So, maybe its just how it is. There are days that I love her independance and days I stress about it and imagine all the horrible things that could happen because of all the freaks out there. Oh the joys of motherhood. Its the most scary, rewarding, stressful, joyful thing in the world.

random pics, and first time at the zoo

cutest butt crack ever.

jumping with dad

very mad that she cant open the door to get outside.

we bought this tiger at the zoo, and she clung to it the whole time we were there. It was pretty cute.

such a little helper. she always insists on helping me push.

These are just some random pics taken over the past wk. I took Chase to the zoo for the first time yesterday and she loved it, but not because of the animals. She quit enjoyed the fences she was able to climb, the train, and the fountain at the entrance of the zoo. When we left she started screaming and made a few attempts at running back in. It was funny. Hopefully when she is older she will appreciate the actual animals a bit more.

Best day

Today was the best day. It all started when I was standing in line at normandie cafe to get something to eat. When it came time for the lady infront of me to order her food she says to me "you go ahead, I am waiting for my daughter". So I ordered and stepped aside, not thinking much of it. Well while I was waiting I watched this mom greet her daughter when she walked in, and give her a big hug, and tell her how beautiful she looked today, and for some reason it got me all choked up ( I am such an emotional dork). And then to top it off as they are leaving she says to me "you enjoy that little angel, they grow up way to fast."
So, it was at this moment I decided to heck with the stuff I should do today, Chase and I are going to spend the whole day having fun, and I am not going to take for granted her kisses and cuddles, which at this point in her life she so freely gives. So we played outside walking up and down the curb 100 times because now she can walk up and down stairs so of course we should do it over and over again dah, then we jumped on nannas tramp, then we cuddled on the couch and watched baby einstein, then we pretended to be trains, and I made sure to tell her I loved her at least 1000 times, because I know when she gets older I am going to miss days like today, days where I know she loves hangin with her mom.
Now she is fast asleep, and I miss her, and its so cheesy, but I know any mom can completly understand.

"When I was 26 I was fabulous"

On my bday someone said to me "How old are you Jamie?" I answered "26". They said "when I was 26 I was fabulous". I thought to myself "hmmm, I would consider myself fabulous at 18, but 26? Fabulous is not the word that comes to mind. These thoughts led me to consider my hobbies.......wait what hobbies? If you consider constantly thinking about how I still need to lose baby weight a hobbie then I am really good at my hobbie. I have been considering taking a photography class, because I am facinated by photography. I find myself looking at Gallery Photographys blog everyday, just to see the creative way he photographs weddings. So I ask anyone who finds themselves reading my blog, what is a good hobby? Although I am first and formost a mom, I want to look back and remember doing more with my time then just this (dont get me wrong,i love being a mom, and its definatly not easy, but anyone who says they are happy just being a mom is lying). A woman will go crazy if she doesnt have an escape once in a while (aka, a hobbie).

And on that note, here is a pic of the munchkin performing at grandmas house. Her most current hobbies are jumping and kicking.

Good things come to those who wait and wait and wait

watching tv with head phones on. of course.
tiny pigtails

brushing teeth

1. I was finally able to put Chase's hair in little pig tails yesterday. It was incredibly hard for me to let it grow out (I am not a fan of the mullet), but I think my patience paid off. She looked awesome with pig tails.
2. After driving the same damn car for 8 yrs, I finally got a new one. Watching my brother in law drive off in the sentra was a bitter sweet moment for me. After all the times I secretly wished she would just blow up, all of the wonderful memories made while in her flashed through my mind as she drove away. The sombrero (or was that the stanza?), driving away in her while sara was still getting out, rear ending the girl who decided after 40 minutes of debating to not call the cops because she just remembered theres a warrant out for her arrest. Now I am over it. Let us never speak of this car again.

HAPPY 30TH JAMIS

Yes, Jamison turned the big 30 on the 6th. I really wanted to throw a suprise party, but he specifically told me not to. We did a very low key celebration in Park City with Nick and Laura(if you guys read this, thanks again for treating us to dinner!) . During this celebration I learned how truly addicting guitar hero is.
So Jamison, if you read this, Happy Birthday you sexy man you. Deuch chillllll...

My marvelous husband.

2 nights ago as Jamison and I were getting ready for bed, I looked over and realized Jamison's hair looked a whole lot like David Hasselhoff's. This was very disturbing. Jamison has gorgeous auburn/reddish hair, curly and thick, but it does nothing for him to look like David circa 1980. I am trying to talk him into going to a professional to get it cut. There is so much potential there. Luckily the next morning the resemblence was gone.

Last night as I was attempting to watch Lost online Jamison lays down on the bed and proceeds to ask me "Isn't it awkward when 2 girls hug and there boobs squash togethor?". Um, what? I can honestly say I have never considered this nore do I want to. Apparently some girl he works with was showing some wedding picture of two girls boob squashing hug and the subject was brought up. Being that he asked me this very late, and I was exhausted it was a lot funnier last night. I am still able to get a good chuckle out of it, yet its still slightly disturbing (but never as disturbing as the hoff).
