Wanted

The past few days, as I browse all the things I want to buy online, I always come back to this. I love this pink kitchenaid, and I want to buy it. Hmm....maybe for my birthday?? It would compliment my kitchen so perfectly....

The newest routine.

Every night for the past few weeks we go through the exact same thing. I put Chase to bed at 9, she crys a few times because she gets scared, finally she calms down and goes to sleep. Jamison and I usually go to bed around 11. From 11pm to 3am is when we get out rest. 3am, usually on the dot, Chase comes wandering in and climbs into bed with us. I get up around 4am to go to the bathroom (along with a few other times in the night. I go a lot since I am preg). Then I am wide awake. To get back to sleep I either have to read, watch ipod, or get on computer. After doing one of the above for about an hour I am sufficintly tired enough to go back to sleep. Then Chase wakes up and I am exhausted and feel like I haven't had any sleep.
I hate this routine. Lets pray it stops soon. And if anyone has any suggestions for keeping Chase in her own bed, or keeping me asleep through the entire night, please feel free to share.

I think I will raise my children here.

A few days ago I was reading on KSL about the 2 teenagers who were planning to kidnap and torture 2 of their classmates. One of the parents overheard a phone conversation about the planning and decided to call the police (thank goodness). ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What are things going to be like when my kids are teenagers? Honestly, I am terrified. It seems almost everyday some pervert teacher is exposed, or some crazy angry teenager with plans to kill everyone. I always thought homeschooling was one of those things that wierd people or polygamist did....but now the idea is looking more and more appealing. Either that, or private school, or taking them to a remote island where they won't be exposed to anything. Or..better yet, I think Jamison and I should just travel the world with our children. Their education will come from experiencing many different cultures. ....k, not really. I mean, I know they will have to go to school, and I have to have faith that there upbringing will give them the desire to make good decisions in life, and it does me no good to sit and worry about it, but still I do.
Just remember kids, as Whitney Housten so eloquently put it, "crack is wack".

Just call me the leaky faucet with a crooked nose

Today I have cried a lot. There are many different reasons, none of which I will tell you. Well, actually I will tell you a few. A song on the radio, a blog, the fact that it was taking so long to vacuum my car, and a few other ones. I assume its because I am pregnant. I think Chase thinks her mom has gone insane. I didn't get this emotional when I was prego with her. Maybe its because this time around its a boy (speaking of which I hate thinking of boy names because I can't think of any I really like, only ones I kindof like).
The other day I was watching Australia (which is a tear jerker pregnant or not), and Jamison was in the kitchen doing homework. Well, it gets to the part in the movie when Sarah Ashley is looking for Nahla, and realizes that they are taking him to Mission Island, and is trying to stop them, and then when she can't she tells Nahla "no matter what happens I will find you." And then he tells her "I will sing you to me Ms. Boss" (or something like that). Anyways, I completly lost it. I was bawling. I could not hold it in. Usually when I get that urge to cry, if I am around people I am really good at holding back, but this time there was no stopping me. Jamison heard my sniffles and turned around, and then I lost it even more. Once I knew that Jamison knew I was crying I just couldn't stop. Hes trying to comfort me, I'm trying to hide my face, we realize how wierd this whole situation is, and we start to laugh.I was basically laughing and crying at the same time. Just thinking about that part in the movie is making me tear up again. The moral of this story is, if one day we are talking, and you start telling me how you were walking down the street, and I start crying, just look away until I can get it under control, then resume the conversation as if nothing has happened.
Also , a few other things. Looking at pictures of myself I realize how crooked my nose is.
The above picture is a reminder that, through the tears over nothing, I will remain positive.
So, thumbs up to that fools!!

Impressed

This morning as I was wasting time on my computer, I decided to check out one of my favorite blogs (cjane). On her blog she had posted a very enlightening (at least I thought so) video of a 20 year old girl named Rachel Esplin "getting grilled" about her religion by journalist Sally Quin. Rachel is an LDS (mormon) girl attending Harvard. I was very impressed with how she handled answering the questions. I work at a place where I am the only LDS person, and I frequently get asked a lot of questions, some of which I have no idea how to answer. Its kindof a long video, but I definatly think its worth watching, whether you are LDS or not. I especially like what she says toward the end of the video when she is asked if she plans on ever moving back to Utah. I think what she says about many LDS people living in Utah is very true.
Enjoy!

Just what I needed to read.

Found this via this sight. Not sure who said it, but I love it.
“ Take chances, take a lot of them. Because honestly, no matter where you end up and with whom, it always ends up just the way it should be. Your mistakes make you who you are. You learn and grow with each choice you make. Everything is worth it. Say how you feel, always. Be you, and be okay with it."

Also, since it is supposed to snow on Thurs, and Fri, and I am so over snow, here is a picture to remind us that snow is at the very least yummy.
Spring, I am so ready for you!!!

Kites, cougars, and baby boys.

A few days ago, when Jamison got off of work, I had the brilliant idea that it would be so fun for us to take Ms. Chase over the the school and fly a kite. It was kinda windy. We kinda had some troubles. The wind wasn't cooperating, and Jamison was getting tangled.
And I was freezing cold. This is my picture trying to convey to you how cold and miserable I was. When my ears get cold I get the worst headache. I decided I am going to invest in some earmuffs. (And yes, I have a dent in my forhead. Deal with it.)

This is the 2 minutes of success we had that I captured with the camra.

Then Jamison and Chase went down the slide around 30 times.

If you can believe it, that isn't even the most exciting part of this post. I know I know, what can be more exciting then unsuccessful kite flying? Well, the best part is that the next morning, bright and early, we went to the 20 wk ultra sound and found out that I am giving birth to Jamison junior. As in, its a boy. And I swear he looks just like Jamison (even though all you can really see is blurry stuff and the outline of a skeleton), that skeletal face just reminded me of Jamison. We are excited. We have no idea what to name him. I have a list of about 30 girl names I love. My boy list doesn't exist. Boy names are hard. Jamison wants to name him Bruce Wayne after Batman. I might consider it. But not really. And lets all hope Jamison is joking. This is a picture of Marin and Chelsea. It has nothing to do with anything. I was downloading pictures and forgot I had taken it a few wks back. We had an impromtu girls night out which consisted of going to red mango and then wandering around Target. While sitting next to the fire at Red Mango, we had a very deep and thought provoking conversation about how Marin should become a Cougar. The funny thing is that in order for her to do this she would have to start dating 16 year olds.

As you can see, she makes an excellent cougar. She just needs to grow out her hair so its long and stringy, bleach it a yellowish blonde color, get lots of plastic surgary, gain 100 pounds, then wear extra tight animal print clothing. I mean, don't they all look like that?

Yeah, we're kindof a big deal

But not really. I feel as though I don't update my blog as much as I should. I feel as though I don't care enough about blogging. What is wrong with me? Nothing. But the strangest thing...this morning I had the overwhelming desire to blog, and since I don't have anything really specific to blog about other than the goings on of my family, then I am going to give you an update on what is up with us yo.This is Chase asleep. I like taking pictures of her sleeping because she is so peaceful, and when she is awake there is never peace. Dont you just want to plant a kiss on that cheek? Sometimes I get overwhelmed with Ms. Chase. Sometimes all day I feel like I am saying "No hitting, No screaming, No kicking, you need to share, no tantrums today, etc etc etc." She just gives me this look, this look that says "I will do what I want." So sometimes I say a prayer that I am having some sort of influence over this free spirit, and then I pray that when the baby is born Chase won't try to shove crackers down his/her throat during those 2 seconds that I'm not looking. I can almost gaurantee that that is going to happen. But seriously she is the funniest person I have ever met. I get a good laugh at least 10 times a day thanks to her.

And then there is me. Jamie. I am fat and pregnant. This is the only picture you will see of yours truly during this pregnancy. I have no desire to document this special time with pictures of myself. But, I will say this. There are big plans for after this baby is born. Big plans that involve serious sweat and tears and getting that old me back. Thats all I will say. I don't want to jinx anything duh! My main goals in life right now are getting my butt back in school, getting a new camra, traveling lots and lots when Jamison is done with school, etc. I actually have a goal to read less. Jamison thinks I am a big nerd and read to much. Is that even possible? Could it be that I am actually freaking awesome? But I do basically have a library in my very small house. Maybe I should take advantage of the real library more often. I have always had a dream of building this huge library in my house (kindof like the one in Beauty and the Beast), and when ever I buy a book the thought seriously crosses my mind "this will one day be put on the shelf of the dream library." Maybe I am a nerd. But listen, I also like to dance, buy way to much makeup, and I scuba dive. Bet you think I'm cool now huh?

Jamison is awesome. He works full-time, goes to the U full-time, is an awesome Dad and Husband full-time. At night I watch the office on the ipod while he watches skate videos on his. He has converted me to some awesome music (other than the 70's crap). He can also do a backflip from solid ground. He plays basketball on Thursdays, and then comes home and says he is an old man. In reality he still looks like he is 19. I have tried to convince him to start a facebook account since most of his friends are on facebook, and he refuses. When I am far to dramatic he makes fun of me (in a way that makes me laugh). He could care less about things that shouldn't be cared about, which is a wonderful example for me. He hardly ever says anything bad about anyone. I love all his freckles. The only time I have ever seen him almost get in a fight is when I was watching him play basket ball a few yrs back and some fat kid said to him "calm down big red" and Jamison I think had visions of punching him. And the best part is, when it comes to his school, there is a faint light at the end of the tunnel. We are hoping he only has one year left, and then..I can't even imagine. I can't imagine him actually coming home after work and being home from 4:00 on. It will be paradise.

And thats all folks.

p.s we find out if it is a boy or girl tomorrow!! (we are thinking boy, since at my 13 wk ultra sound she said she thought it might be a boy, but i wasnt far enough along to tell for sure).

Photography fascinates me

Yesterday Kelly Sansom gave some good Photography tips on Studio 5 (for us fools who have no idea what we are doing)...but the main reason I watched was the picture of Ms. Chase right in the center of the interview. I was very proud for those few minutes.
There are so many awesome photographers in Utah. It makes me want to learn.
Also, Kelly's wife is teaching photography classes. Anyone interested in signing up with me?

Some of the other photographers I enjoy are: Jonathon Canlas , Peekaboo photgraphy, Blue Lillie

and Scott Heffernan
and lots more but I don't want to bore the 2 people that actually read this blog (and who are probably already bored).

for a new job. I think I am about to have a nervous breakdown. If anyone has any suggestions of good places to be employed (part time), do tell. please.

Hilarious!

I can not believe she can talk this fast and still speak so clearly!

There is another Judy Grimes Just Kidding skit that is actually 10 times funnier...at the beggining of it she starts talking about the different ways she says "hi" but I couldn't find it. This one is still pretty good though.

2 years old!

Ms. Chase turned 2 on the 16th. It was an eventful 2 days. On her actual birthday we took her to Jungle Jims with some of her cousins. Then the day after we did a family party for her with all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc..
Her favorite present for sure was the bike (shout out to Stella). We also got her a little art table and chairs from PB kids, but I didn't order it in time, so it has yet to come. I think she will enjoy it.
Lately some of her favorite things are, reading, dancing, doing flips off of her Dad, going to kindermusic with her mom, playing with any animal, jumping on the tramp, and basically being a wild child....and in case you were wondering, she definatly has a case of the terrible twos. This is her jumping in excitement for some Christmas presents

This is her dressed in her Snow White dress ups, which she recieved for her bday. She refused to take them off and ended up sleeping in them

Holding one of her bday books

The morning of her bday she got a bike. She wouldn't get off and as a result is actually really good at riding it now.

If you haven't ridden one of these, you should. They are a blast.

Everyone and Everyone you know should read this book.

I finished it last night. I stayed up until midnight, crying, eating up every last word of this amazing book. If you have not read it yet, please, please, please, go get it and start reading it immediatly. I wish I had the words to describe it.
If our next child is a girl I am seriously considering naming her Liesel, after the main charecter. I really think this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read. Example: The story Max writes Liesel called "The Stand Over Man."
Are you kidding me? I read that and cried. I cried, and cried (but I am pregnant, so some commercials make me cry)...but still.
Just go get it, read it, then call me so we can talk about it.

At last

I have decided to post. But I will warn you, it will be pointless.
Let me let you in on a little secret. Sometimes I get sick of being on the computer. And yes, at times I get sick of blogging. But my husband has been asking me why I don't update my blog,so I decided to.
Well, Christmas was good and crazy. Chase got a kitchen set and lots of toys. New Years was pretty uneventful. Jamison and I just got back from my familys cabin, and that was relaxing. We are now preparing for Chase's 2nd birthday which is on the 16th, and I'm thinking to myself "didn't we just buy her a bunch of Christmas presents, now we are already on to the birthday?" Time flys.
I have still been very sick with this pregnancy, that is until my doc prescribed a heaven sent pill, which when taken pretty much makes me a walking zombie..but hey, I'd rather be really tired then puking 4 times an hour.
Also I just finished an awesome book, and am about to finish another one, which is so awesome its, like, life changing...but more about that later.
And thats it.
Peace.

Actually, I like snow.

Today it snowed ALOT, all day long. I loved it. Chase loved it more. We played outside. I attempted to get Chase's help in building a snowman, but all she wanted to do was eat the snow. Snow is yummy.
Living in Utah it seems that I should utilize the amount of snow we get more (does that make sense.) I was remembering many years ago when Staci and I took a snowboarding class for college credit and how much fun it was. We had a big crush on Kendrick, our instructor. We would also go snowboarding at least 3 times a week. You want to know the last time I went? Um, about 3 yrs ago. 3 YEARS. I will blame the last pregnancy and the current one. But it is my goal to next year get back into it.
I will also not be partaking in ice skating this Friday. Not safe for preggers here. But Jamison is going to show me his mad skills.

What a weekend.

This weekend was the Nelson family Christmas party. My grandma had Santa come and suprise the grandkids/great grandkids. It was fun, yet a little over whelming since there are about a million kids in the family. It was fun for Chase to sit on Santa's lap (it was the first time she ever has since last year I was a bad Mom and never felt like taking her to the mall to stand in line so she could sit on Santa's lap).
Anyways, watching while every small grandchild and great grand child took there turn sitting on his lap got a little boring...and boy was I glad when it was over so we could finally eat.....but wait...did he just call my name? Yes, after every child sat on his lap he called my name, and I'm thinking "what is going on?" Jamison and my Mom have these big grins on there faces so of course I am thinking Jamison has some big Christmas suprise for me......but no. My Mom thought it would be funny if santa "outed" my pregnancy to my whole family by asking me if I would want some baby clothes for Christmas. Lame. See below picture.

The best part of the night was when we put Chase to bed, then went to check on her a few hours later, she had fallen asleep with her book over her face. Apparently she got so tired while "reading" she decided to simply put the book down directly on her face.

That next morning we woke up bright and early to the loudest crashing noise I have ever heard and what looked like lightening directly infront of our window. Turns out the wind blew over the ginormous tree in our backyard and on its way down it took out our power lines. The tree was so huge it took up the whole back yard. It couldn't have landed more perfectly. If it would have fallen any other direction it would have either taken out our neighbors roof, or our roof, so we got lucky. We didn't have power all day, and there was a small chain saw incident that shall remain unmentioned, but we did finally get it worked out and cleaned up.
I am glad this weekend is almost over.

Tilly and the Wall on Sesame Street

Chase and I have watched this about 20 times already. She absolutly loves it. If you have a little one I bet they will love it to!
It makes me miss my tapping days. Yes, there was a time when I was a very good tapper...and after watching Chase dance to this for the last hour I have a feeling she will be quit the tapper also.

July 16

On this day Chase will be exactly 2 1/2 years old. Why else is this date significant? Because it is the due date of Darby baby #2. Yes, folks I am pregnant (which will come as news to the few I haven't "accidentally" told).
This pregnancy has been an adventure. A grand puking adventure. I didn't realize how truly good I had it while pregnant with Chase (never getting sick and all). This time around pretty much anything and everything makes me sick. Including all foods, a few colors, almost all smells (isn't it insane how a pregnant women's sense of smell is heightened?), and being on the computer for an extended amount of time tends to make me ill...which is why for the next little while I may slack just a little on the blogging.
So, lets hope it passes!!! We are so very excited!! 7 months seems so far away, but I know it will be here before we know it!

This Thanksgiving

We celebrated with my family, we went bowling, and I was really sick (and still am). That about sums it up.

I will never have those 2 hours back.....

Last night we went and saw Twilight. The best part of the movie was the Harry Potter preview. I will spare you all my explanations of why it was a horrible movie. I will say this though...I felt like I was watching a really bad soap opera. If you value your time do not see this movie (unless your a 12 yr old girl, then you might like it).
And yes, I read all the books, and yes I liked them, but this movie was one of the worst I have seen in a long time. Also some of the worst acting ever.
