Just because

1. I like it when Cohen sits on Chase's lap for an extended period of time, expecially since he rarely sits still for any amount of time.

2. My little sisters are beautiful, and Chase adores them.
(Chase and Alyx on the day Alyx got baptized)

Also I would like to just throw out the fact that I am currently watching Son-in-Law.
Thats what happens when you have been packing all day, and your house is insanely hot and you are exhausted. You just don't feel like changing the channel.

Where is Winona?

If one day you and I were talking, and you happened to randomly ask me who my favorite actress is, I would most likely tell you Winona Ryder. She is in three of my favorite movies.

Reality Bites.
Edward Scissorhands.
Little Women.

I think the whole shoplifting incident may have hampered her career just a little bit...but still I just love her. I don't know exactly why...but I do. Lets be real. I miss her. I want to see her in more movies. One of the only reasons I watched the latest Star Wars movie was because I new Winona was in it. I was just a little disappointed when it was only for about 2 seconds.

Come back Winona. I miss your movies.

And speaking of my favorite movies, I couldn't resist posting some of my favorite clips from said movies.

Happy Anniversary, Happy Fathers Day, Goodbye Pier 1.

This past weekend we celebrated being married for 5 years, Fathers Day, and me quiting my job. Friday afternoon Jamison's brother David called us saying he could get us a room up at Westgate Lodge in Park City for the next 2 nights if we wanted (David works there)...and hell yes we did. We so needed a mini vaca being that the last few weeks have been insane with trying to get packed up to move, and everyone being sick. In fact our little weekend get a way was sandwiched between a crazy week and whats soon to be a crazy week. Can I just say that moving sucks. I mean really, I hate it. So, needless to say, this weekend was a much needed breather.
The two love birds celebrating 5 yrs.

Funny story, when we first got up to the Hotel and checked in, we were walking down the hall trying to locate our room number. We finally came to the very end and there is was: 1800...but then we stopped in wonder. Presidential Suite? Whaaaa? Could it be? This great deal David got us was for the Presidential Suite? Turns out it wasn't. Our room was basically the left wing of the Presidential Suit. We didn't have access to the whole thing (although the first night the doors to the suite were left wide open with no one staying in it, but no matter how hard I begged I couldn't get Jamison to let us just sneak in for one night).
But regardless our room was still awesome, and we owe David for hooking us up.

Here we have Jamison wearing the complimentary robe. His only complaint was that it wasn't shorter. Dang.

The second night of our stay we brought the kids up. Of course we couldn't do Fathers Day without them. I couldn't resist snapping this shot of Jamison and Cohen zonked out together. I mean really, when it comes to being a Dad, Jamison is the best. There are times I can't help but just stare at him in wonder interacting with our kids. No words can express how happy it makes me.

Mr. Cohen. Swinging. Shorts hiked up. Chubby legs.
Oh how I love him.

I had to include this pic of Chase. The reason being, she is going through this weird phase of not smiling normal when someone tells her to smile. Its like she gets nervous and reverts to this weird lips tucked under smile. So when I had my camera, and she was doing just her normal Chase smile I had to snap a shot before she realized what I was doing.

We also did lots of swimming.

Sunday night Jamison's sister Beckie and Bro-in-law Steve did a Father's Day dinner at there house in Midway. It was also a going away dinner for Jamison's Dad and Step -Mom Laraine. They are going on a mission to Georgia, and are leaving next week. They will be gone for a year, and they will be missed:(
They have a great backyard, which Chase loves. She climbed on the rocks, ate her dinner just chilling on the rocks....
pretended to be "lion king" on the rocks.

Oh, and what does this picture have to do with anything? It was only taken before my last shift worked at Pier 1. Really I have worked there longer than I care to admit. It is time to move on to bigger and better things, meaning I am going to be a full time mom for the time being. Really nothing could make me happier.I would so love to go back to school, but that is something that can not even be thought about until Jamison is done..in August.
With him focusing on finishing up and not having a nervous break down, and me trying to make the whole move go smoothly, things are crazy.
August can not get here soon enough.

Picture this.

A few weeks back our friends Scott and Aimee Heffernan came into town. They reside in Seattle. I really wanted Scott to take pics of my kids.
He did.
I love them.
Here are just a few of my favorites.

Also, check out Aimee's relationship blog (she's a therapist), This Modern Love. Great advice when it comes to relationships/marriage:)

Speaking of walking...

Are you aware that my son's feet are so chubby that I have only found 1 pair of shoes that will actually fit over his feet. One pair of sandals. I took him to Nordstrom to try and find another pair, and the sales woman was baffled when, no matter the size she brought out, his feet were to chubby to fit inside the shoe or strap.

I love when I am sitting in the living room and he comes waddling in from the kitchen with his arms straight up, and walking like he has been riding a horse for the past 10 hours.

Do you understand my desire to kiss his chubby cheeks/legs? It is almost uncontrollable.

Some days I discover mystery bite marks on Cohen's arms or legs. Gee I wonder who those are from???

Today I took my kids to Red Butte Gardens. I have blogged about this place before. It is awesome. I want to have a back yard just like the children's area. I am getting burned out taking the kids to the zoo, or aquarium, or Wheeler Farm. I think the kids are over it to.
Solution: Children's garden at Red Butte Gardens (or Grandma's pool but thats not open yet)
You can't beat a splash fountain, ponds, little maze, little play huts covered in flowers...I mean the place is adorable.
This is the beginning of the maze. Its a snakes mouth. Love the tongue.

I call this picture "big booty, big bosoms." I'm all "Look at this innocent Mom in the background...BAM, my booty, and look camera, BAM, my bosoms.

A flower bed.

Chase in the maze.

Chase playing in the splash fountain.

About these huge lizards Chase kept saying "these lizards are sooo cool".

Around the splash fountain are these snakes that spray water. Cohen got a nice surprise when he was sprayed while checking one out.

Solution to Cohen getting fussy: Give him Chase's thermos full of juice. Once he figured out how to suck it out he was good to go.

Me and my girl.

The Cohenater walks

I took this video today but technically he has been walking for about a week. Everyday he gets a little more brave and goes a little further.
And yes, Chase is dressed in her witch costume from 2 years ago.
My voice is annoying.

Dance demonstration

When Chase turned 3 I decided to sign her up for dance classes, only because it was so clear that the girl loved to dance. It just so happened that a friend of mine had decided to open a studio in the Salt Lake area around that same time. My friend is an amazing dancer (she graduated from the U of U with a masters of fine arts degree in Modern Dance), and that is just the tip of the ice berg. The girl has danced all over the country and is insanely good, so I immediately new that this is where I wanted my daughter learning the art of dance.
I am so glad we signed her up. Every week she looks forward to her class, and when its over doesn't want to leave.
Since today was the last class until the summer semester of classes start, her teacher invited all the parents to attend so that the kids could do a demonstration showcasing some of the things they have worked on and been doing in class the past 6 months.
It was awesome.
Chase is a spaz.
That is for sure.

Here is a small clip I took of her dancing (she is the one in the black leotard).
I love that when Ms. Kim yells "freeze!" it takes Chase awhile to decide what pose to freeze in.
As you can see she quickly goes through a few poses before she decides to settle on one.
