Saturday night

It is Saturday night, Chase just went to sleep. Jamison and I are watching some wierd movie on comedy central, and for the past 20 minutes Jamison has been debating going to the grocery store. He told me I should blog about it, and if someone comments within the next 5 minutes he will go. I told him the chances of that happening are slim to none.
Now we are watching Harry Potter. I love Harry Potter, and I am so excited for the next movie. Did you know it comes out on my due date? We might name the baby Harry in celebration (I am kidding, and I have to tell you I am kidding because some people thought I was serious when I said we might name him Sean Connery. It was a joke. jeez.).
Last night we watched 3:10 to Yuma. It was good. I like Christian Bale. I have been a fan since Newsies. We went and saw Terminator Salvation the other night. I liked him in that also. Did you know that Hugh Jackmans wife was in Newsies? Yeah, I discovered that when I was reading about Hugh on Wikipedia. Do I enjoy Hugh Jackman? Hells yes I do. Who doesn't?
Today we played outside a lot. Thats the only way Chase will go to sleep at a decent hour. I have to literally keep her going non stop all day if I want her in bed by 9. Exhausting I tell you. My parents got more (bigger) 4-wheelers to ride at the cabin. My mom took Chase on a test drive and she didn't want to get off. I am preg so I can't ride, but there is good news. They just put a swimming pool in at our cabin. So, come June when we are there, I will be shilaxing by the pool while everyone is 4-wheelin.

What else could I B.S. about ? How about 30 rock. I missed most of this last season, so whilst I lay in bed I have been catching up on episodes. One of my favorite lines so far..."Sir, your mother had me move her from The Plaza to The Carlyle. Evidently the concierge at The Plaza has a beard, and she'd rather not get raped. ..." I thought it was hilarious. I love that show.

I want to see this movie. I just finished this book. It was REALLY good.

Also, we have some boy names picked out....but we are telling no one! Not until he is born that is! We are sick of hearing opinions. Thats why.

Now I am going to watch Harry Potter and eat popcorn with tabasco sauce. Yum.

swim

Our Memorial day consisted of swimming in the kiddy pool, in Grandma Marilee's pool and basically playing out side all day and eating lots of yummy food. Now I have an annoying farmers tan. Awesome. Regardless, it was a very fun day.

Hope everyone had a good day as well:)

Awkwardness and other random thoughts

I wish I wasn't so self conscious. Today at church I realized that the cute little girl that was visiting our nursery was actually the daughter of an old friend. When he came to pick her up I realized that it was his daughter, and I said hello, and we got to talking about the good old days..how we went to a high school dance togethor, and other shananagans we were involved in back in the day. But when I first spotted him I got that nervous feeling. You know the one, when the first thought that entered my mind was "I am fat and pregnant, and I really don't feel like running into people I went to highschool with. Maybe I should just hide and hope he doesn't notice me." But after I had that thought, I thought "screw that". He was a good friend and I felt like catching up with an old friend. But there are many times I have avoided people because I am so self conscious. I tend to feel awkward. That is my first random thought.

These are pics of Chase playing in my Mom and Step Dad's yard. We live right behind my parents. There are pros and cons to this. Sometimes its hard living so close to the parentals. Thats all I have to say about that.

Also, I will be giving birth to a baby boy in less than 2 months, and so far he has about 3 outfits and thats it. I still need bedding, basinet, stroller, and more clothes. When I was pregnant with Chase I was all gung ho about getting everything ready. When she was born she had a bigger wardrobe that Jamison and mines combined. Her nursery was totally decorated (bonus of working at PB kids at the time), and we had about a years worth of diapers already. This time around I keep forgetting I need to get stuff ready. Sad, but true. Chase and baby boy will be sharing a room for about the first year of his life, so I need to get that all worked out (which reminds me, if anyone has any good suggestions for decorating ideas on combining a girl and boy room let me know). That was my third random thought. Something else totally random...I have about 50 pictures of Chase jumping on the tramp. Guess I need to ease up on that.

We are really good at charades.

Chase is an excellent communicator. She just hates using actual words. When she was a wee baby I taught her a lot of sign language which she picked up on really quickly, but I started despising sign language when that is all Chase would use when she should have been using words. Everyone says that teaching your baby sign language early on will actually help their language developement, but it didn't help Chase. We had to start making her stop doing the signs and make her say the actual word. About 6 months ago she started speech therapy. It was determined that she had a slight case of Speech Apraxia...meaning, although she understands everything, its hard for her brain to connect to her mouth to form words. The only way to fix it is through therapy. Although, I have to say that its a lot easier for her to express her serious attitude when she can do it through words. But, despite that, we love it. She still has lots to work on, so she will probably be in speech therapy until she is 3, but its so nice to hear her talking more and more. I love it! And it amazes me how much she knows! I didn't realize it when she wasn't talking. For a while, all I was really focused on was getting her to use more words, not realizing how many other things she was picking up on. Everyday she amazes me! Like this morning, she looked outside and told me the moon went night night, and the sun was up. To most parents this wouldn't be a big deal, but I loved it. I loved hearing her try to tell me this. I love seeing how smart she is, and knowing shes just been storing away all this knowledge, waiting until she could better express it to us. I love teaching her everything and hearing her say it back to me, instead of her trying to communicate with Jamison and I through signs and gestures! For awhile it felt like we were playing charades all the time. Hearing that sweet little voice makes me so incredibly happy.

Check out the cute banner friend Aimee designed for me. I sent out a plea on facebook for someone to help me out, and she totally came through. I love it.

za za zoo, and the giggles.

On Monday I forced my sick husband, and confirmed sick child to the zoo. I wanted to go out and do something as a family and I wasn't gonna let no strep throat get in my way fools! I know I am a horrible person, but they are both no longer contagious and were acting like they felt so much better, so I just couldn't resist.

On a completly random and different subject, lately I have had a serious case of the giggles. I have decided its my bodies coping mechanism to deal with the insane discomfort I feel constantly from this pregnancy. Also the swollen feet. Not looking forward to 90 degree weather. The other night I went to our neighbors and cut some lilacs off of his bushes to put in an arrangement on our table (he has about 10 bushes with thousands of lilacs, so its not like he cares).

Anyways, when I got home I told Jamison where I got the lilacs and he said "You stole them from our gangster neighbor?" Well, I thought he said "You stole them from erectula?"

I know it sounds nothing like what he actually said, and that erectula isn't actually a word, but thats what I thought I heard.....listen, I don't want to offend anyone, but you can only imagine the comments Jamison made after I told him what I thought he said. I would post them, but at this time I can not. Needless to say I got the uncontrolable giggles, and am still laughing about it today. So, erectula is now part of our vocabulary. We picture him as a certain type of vampire. Thats all I will say. And I am sure, tomorrow, I will regret evening mentioning this.

Mothers Day?

Chase has had some mystery illness for about 3 wks now. Well, mystery solved. How did we solve this mystery? When everyone around Chase got strep throat (everyone meaning my Mom and Jamison). I'm not sure why it didn't occur to anyone (including Chase's doctor even though I took her in twice) that she might have strep. Now is makes perfect sense. I just feel horrible that she basically had to get over it on her own, but still isn't quit over it (we think), and we are just barely figuring out what was wrong.

Anyways, Jamison went to instacare last night and found out he had it, and has basically been miserable / sleeping all day. I am hoping I'm not next.

My Mom had a Mothers day celebration/dinner tonight. It was fun. Other than that, today and yesterday Chase and I just kindof hung out, doing whatev. We made funny faces for the camra (and you only get to see 2 of them)

played some baseball

jumped on the tramp

took more pics

And just an fyi, Anthropologie is my favorite store for myself, and to buy gifts for everyone else. I got my Mom and Mother in law the cutest dish towels and oven mits from Anthropologie for Mothers day. They loved them, I loved them.

Chase likes to tie ribbon around her head.

Chase and Nanna (aka, my awesome Mom).

Hells yeah I made some homemade Mothers day cards. About once every 6 months I start to feel crafty.

Chase gets a good hour on the trampoline every day. This was a moment of said time yesterday.
All and all, it was a fairly good Mothers Day for me. I would have enjoyed it more if I had a healthy family right now. I did get an Anthropologie gift card, so that definatly put a smile on my face....anyways,
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYONE! I HOPE YOU ALL HAD AN AMAZING DAY!

Some random things I kindof miss.

I miss the Bluthes. I am so glad that there is for sure going to be a movie and that Micheal Cera will for sure be in it.

I miss going to concerts like this. This is 311. I kindof miss them. They are still around, but I don't like them like I did in highschool (maybe obsessed is a better way to describe how my friends and I felt about them). I will always have a huge crush on S.A. Martinez, and will never forget the way he moves on stage. Looking at this picture brings back memories of how fun these concerts were. I am amazed that my friends and I could jump up and down for hrs on end, and still be wanting more when the concert was over. I guess to lose the baby weight I will have to start going to as many concerts as I used to.

Speaking of losing weight, I miss doing these 80's style work out tapes. They are awesome. They remind me of when I was a little girl and my Mom and I would do them togethor.

I miss movies like the Goonies. I think more movies like this one should be made.
One of my favorite quotes,"And you know your looks are kindof pretty...when your face doesn't screw it up.". I always laugh when Mouth says that.

Old school Micheal Jackson. I think its crazy that even today so many professional dancers use Micheals old school moves. To bad he turned into such a freak.

Are you kidding me with this?

The only good parts of today were the very beginning, and the very end. Everything inbetween kindof sucked. I woke up bright and early for a doctors appt. I drop Chase off at my Mom's, and then head to my prenatal visit. My doctor's office is up in the avenues (near LDS hospital), so its not like its really close to my house. Upon arriving and telling them "I am here to see Dr. Cannon" I am met with a look of confusion. Today is Dr. Cannons day off, and come to find out my appt is actually tomorrow. Nice. I head home. I decide to stop off at The Children's Hour (a very cute childrens clothing boutique). I leave, and I kid you not I had not driven a block when I realize I am getting pulled over. According to the cop I was going 50 in a 40. But this doesnt make sense. I didn't have time to even accelerate between pulling out of my parking spot, and coming to the stop light. I mean, I drive a toyota 4runner, so its not like I can go 0 to 60 in 2 seconds. But this is not whats so bad. Whats so bad is that this is the third speeding ticket I have recieved in about 4 months. Traffic school here I come! (and I will be fighting this last ticket).

But..amongst all the crappiness that was today, there were a few good things.

These lovely blossoms I discovered while in my back yard. They were actually growing on the tree in my next door neighbors back yard. I figured I was entitled to some, since my day had been so bad. So I walked over and cut some off (he wont even notice. its a big tree).

Then I headed up to my Dad's to give my little sister her birthday present. She just turned 9. My sisters are a lot younger than me (obviously), but they adore Chase and she adores them, so its always fun going to see them. And yes, my Dad is kindof a cowboy (Jamison will be so proud that I admitted this), so Chase will never have a lack of horses to ride.
YEE-HA.
