Really? Captain Eo?

Do you want to know what is awesome? I have been searching for cute boots for my daughter. After a few purchases and returns I find some. They are ordered, they are finally delivered today, Chase finally has her boots. Thrilling isn't it?

This is what Jamison said when he saw the boots:

"Chase, do you want to know where those boots came from? They came straight from Captain Eo."

Well, even if they look like Captain Eo's boots, we are keeping them. I am tired of returning shoes. Also, Captain Eo is awesome, so really its a good thing.
Chase boots.

Captain Eo's boots. Really they don't look anything like Chase's boots.
Face Jamison. Face.

In other news I should get the mother of the year award for letting my son watch The Fresh Beat Band while standing on a diaper box (that has been sitting there for a few days now)...in the middle of the day in his onesie.

Also, Chase and her witch costume have made many appearances on this blog. Here is Cohen the lion.
Best. Lion. Ever.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARILEE!!

Isn't my Mother- in- law beautiful? I think she is gorgeous. Jamison has been collecting and scanning lots of pictures of her (old and new), and I can't help but look at them all and realize where Jamison got those good looks :)
We feel blessed and so thankful that tonight we get to go celebrate her birthday with her. She was diagnosed with cancer many months back. We are thankful for every day we have with her.

Marilee if you read this, happy birthday! We love you!!!

This picture KILLS ME because I feel like I am looking at the girl version of Cohen. He has the exact same smile and teeth.

To all crafty handy people, I NEED YOUR ADVICE!!

Before I quit working for Pier 1 Imports I found this twin sleigh bed buried in the stock room. It had been forgotten, and as a result was marked down to like 40 bucks. I decided to get it for Chase thinking that although I didn't love the brushed silver color (I think thats what you would call it??), I could do something with it to make it cuter. I couldn't pass up the $40 price tag. Since our living situation is very temporary right now I decided to wait until we were going to move, and then worry about fixing it up how I liked it. Well, that time is coming upon us very quickly and I want to get it done.

I would like to paint it an off white color (maybe). But for sure give it an antiqued vintage look. I just need advice and opinions. Whats the best way to go about painting a rod iron head board and foot board? Can it be done? What kind of paint would I use?

Anyone have any tips to help me out? I would so greatly appreciate it.
Please forgive the messy unmade bed.

This is the color I am going for.

1am sit ups.

Last night I stayed up until 3am watching season 2 of Friday Night Lights. Around the 1am mark I got the overwhelming urge to do sit-ups, which is weird because I usually don't have any sort of urge to work out ever. Maybe it was the crazy new coach that just replaced Coach Taylor in coaching the Panthers. He yells a lot and makes Tim Riggins do lots of intense work outs. Maybe that was it. So this means I am going to stay up again tonight watching Friday Night Lights and hope that once again at some point during the crazy coach yelling I will get the urge to work out (except I am fairly certain that coach Taylor will be back. I mean the Panthers aren't the same without him.)

If you are reading this and have no idea what I am talking about, then by all means start watching Friday Night Lights. Its good. And if you have netflix on your wii, then it should be on your instant que, because it is on mine. Thats why I started watching it. It was just so conveniently there.

Also, just an FYI, I did around 300 sit-ups. So, I went from not doing 1 sit-up in about a 5 month period to doing 300 in one night. Can you imagine the intense pain I am in today?

And now more fall pictures. Why? Because I can.

We stopped to pick some fall leaves on our Saturday drive up Guardsmans Pass. We wanted to see all the leaves changing. It was an awesome drive.
Her friends birthday party was earlier in the day and that is why her face is painted...there was a face painter there. That sentence seemed weird to me.

Why does she get this spaced out look on her face when I tell her to smile? Its a mystery.

We ended up in Heber and wanted to stop at the Homestead to pick up some of yummy fudge sold in the gift shop. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pumpkin/scarecrow festival going on. I also felt the urge to edit this pic to give Cohen creepy eyes and fangs.
Spooooky.

It looks like Cohen has a bald spot on the top of his head. He doesn't. His hair has started coming in blonde....but not so much blonde, more white.

I snapped some pics of Chase in the backyard today. She kind of looks like she is 25...not 3.

She went from hating it when ever I would attempt to take a pic of her, to hamming it up every time she sees the camera. I'm not a huge fan of the cheesy posed pictures, but this is just what she does, so I just go with it. I don't like how old it makes her look. Can she please just hang out at the age of 3 forever?

Me and my girl.

A wedding and Little Haunts.

Yesterday we attended my cousins wedding at the Draper Temple.
While standing in the waiting room, waiting for the bride and groom to come outside for pictures my daughter pushed me over.
It was very surprising.
I was embarrassed for a few seconds, then I laughed really hard for a long time.
Thanks heavens no one got a picture of that.
I did take lots of pictures of Chase posing. I like her poses.
From here on out whenever I am in a picture I will utilize one of the 4 below poses. No matter the occasion.

Today we went to Little Haunts at This Is The Place Heritage Park (yes it was on my list in the below post. I will now cross it off). The kids had so much fun, and Chase loved that she got to dress up in her witch costume. There was trick-or-treating at all the little cottage houses, train rides, pony rides, witch story telling and sing-a-longs, Halloween crafts, fun games for the kids, a little petting zoo, and lots of other equally awesome/fun things. We were there for a really long time....as in all of our friends left and 3 hours later we were still there. It is at that point I am ready to shoot myself. I was hot and tired of chasing around my children. But I suppose it was worth it since they had a good time. This place gets a thumbs up from me. Great place to take the kids for a fun filled Halloween outing.
Here we have Chase participating in a pumpkin rolling race. Who knew old fashion Halloween games could be so entertaining?

Chase the witch and her beautiful butterfly friend Teagan.

I didn't dress up Cohen, because lets be real, like he would actually wear his lion costume all day. We will be lucky if we can get him to wear it for an hour on Halloween.

Witch story telling and sing-a-long.

Its fall up in here.

It is fall and we are la la la loving it. We have been to a few different pumpkin patches, carved lots of pumpkins, baked fall goodies, read our favorite fall/Halloween books every night, and routinely watched our favorite Halloween movies (Hocus Pocus, Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and the old Ichabod cartoon).

Chase rotates her old witch costume and new witch costume almost daily. Why not let her dress up every day? She loves it. We miss living by the Halloween House, but since my parentals still live down the street from it, we still find ourselves visiting it regularly.

Today as we were driving down 33rd Chase freaked out when we passed that little nursery that gets turned into a pumpkin patch every October. She insisted we stop. I thought, "Why not? I am not opposed to more pumpkins."

Oh. My. Hell.

The first few minutes there were great. Chase and Cohen were running around, Chase was picking out pumpkins, posing for pictures, loving all the cute Halloween decor they had. Then some guy that worked there walked up to me and was like "you need to come show your daughter this bride lady."

Not thinking anything of it, we walk over. Its this weird creepy Halloween bride (almost life size I might add), with her head down. This guy keeps telling Chase she needs to walk right up to this lady and look at her beautiful face. As I am sure you have guessed, when you walk up to the bride she puts her head up and screams in your face. Chase and I both screamed louder than either of us have ever screamed before in the history of Jamie and Chase screams. I started laughing, Chase started bawling. From that moment on she refused to even move. She was terrified.

I wanted to punch this guy in the face for thinking a 3 yr old girl would be into some zombie bride screaming in her face. (but I am not opposed to going back and purchasing said zombie bride when we have a house. I can only imagine the awesomeness of putting her in our yard, and letting her terrify everyone during Halloween festivities.)

I paid for my pumpkins, picked up my terrified girl, and we made our way out of there.
(and btw, I was holding Cohen through all this, and it did not scare him in the least. He did smack my face when I started laughing. Thats about the only reaction we got.)

Anyways, back to fabulous fall.

Chase posing in 2 yr old witch costume with her new pumpkins. Also, I enjoy white pumpkins.

Awesome pumpkin patch in riverton.

We are pumpkin carving fools.

THIS is the pumpkin patch on 33rd. Picture taken before my daughter was scared to death.

Halloween cupcakes.

Cohen enjoying a honey crisp apple, which can only be purchased during the fall months. They are the best apples I have ever tasted. If you have never tried them, go buy some immediately before they are gone. Also, if you didn't notice, he enjoys hanging out in Chase's doll stroller.

Our favorite Halloween and Fall books.

Talking witch.

Chase heading to Ella's house wearing her to small witch costume.

I have a list of a few things we want to do before Halloween is over. If anyone wants to join us we would love it:) These are all family friendly things that kids of all ages can attend.

1. Garden After Dark up at Red Butte Gardens.
2. Haunted Heber Valley Railroad ride. Saw on the news how fun this is, and its recommended for the whole family. Kids of every age. I guess there is also a great little pumpkin patch thats fun for kids near where the railroad is.
3. Little Haunts and Haunted Village at This is the Place Park.

Who knows if we will get around to all of that, but I am sure going to try. Anyone done any of these things? Are they as awesome as they seem?

Anywho. Thats all for now.
Happy Fall:)
